Italian Antitrust Clears Midea-Esaote Merger
The Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) cleared the acquisition of the Italian medical technology leader Esaote S.p.A. by the Chinese giant Midea Group.
The Deal Structure
Midea has acquired full control of Esaote by purchasing the remaining shares of Shanghai Lu Zi, the holding company that owns the Italian firm. Midea, through its subsidiary Wandong, previously held a 22.49% stake; it has now bought out the remaining partners, including the majority shareholder Jiangsu Yuyue Technology.
