Investigation into LLD Polyethylene Imports from the USA
The UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has launched an official investigation into whether Linear Low-Density (LLD) polyethylene imported from the United States is being “dumped” in the UK.
The investigation was triggered by an application from INEOS Olefins & Polymers UK, a manufacturer based in Scotland. They argue that these imports are hurting their business. The TRA will determine if this dumping is occurring and if it is causing injury to the UK industry. If they find proof of harm, they may recommend new trade measures, such as tariffs, to ensure fair competition.
