EU27 (Selected Countries): Plug-in Cars Imported from China

Between January and April 2026, EU27 countries imported 97,404 new plug-in cars from China .... a 130% increase relative to the same period last year. Germany, Spain, Italy, and Poland saw significant volume increases; on the other side of the spectrum, Belgium (the EU’s main import gateway) saw its volumes shrink by some 36%, bringing the overall number of units for the first four months of 2026 to roughly 16,400 cars.

Are we seeing some inventory building before the expected tariffs for PHEVs kick in???
