Aluminium Bahrain Moves to Acquire France’s Aluminium Dunkerque
The European Commission has been notified of a proposed deal where Aluminium Bahrain plans to take full control of France-based Aluminium Dunkerque through a share purchase. Aluminium Bahrain operates a massive production site in the Middle East with an annual capacity exceeding 1.6 million tons, while Aluminium Dunkerque runs a primary smelter in France capable of producing roughly 300,000 tons per year. Because the merger is being treated under a simplified procedure, it suggests the acquisition is expected to be straightforward without significant competition concerns.
